Analyses at the bottom indicate the latest data warehouse load date as well as the most recent census data available across various dashboards.

Academic Planning Database (APDB)

Academic Planning Database (APDB) OverviewAvailable to General Users - Provides an overview of state-support course sessions for the most recent fall term. Visualizations include the 10 most highly enrolled courses, class size distributions, student FTEs by college, and student / faculty ratio by college. Using the "Select View" prompt at the top, you can change from a graphical to a tabular layout, or you can select "College or Major" options, that will reveal prompts for college and major that can then be used to filter the data. This dashboard is designed to be printer friendly.
Student Faculty Ratio and Faculty Workload - Provides metrics on Student Term FTEs, Faculty Term FTEs, Student Faculty Ratio, and Section Counts and Enrollment. Total Faculty Workload, Faculty Headcount, and Faculty Workload Fractions are also available.
Course FTES for Academic Year - Provides a tabular breakdown of student course FTES for the term(s) and academic year selected. The table uses a nested hierarchy under the SIA Academic Course column. The college level can be expanded to the department level, to the major level, and then to the course level. Clicking on a particular course and using the action link navigation drills to a fully drilled table with class sections.
Average Class Size and Credit Load - Provides a tabular breakdown of enrollment, number of sections, total credits, average class size, and average credit for the term(s) by academic year selected. The Academic Group (college) column values can be drilled down to the Academic Organization (department) level, and then to the Subject Description, and then the Course level.
Faculty Instruction - Provides a tabular breakdown of the number of faculty, the total credits taught, and the average credits per faculty for the term(s) by academic year selected. The Academic Group (college) column values can be drilled down to the Academic Organization (department) level, and then to the Subject Description, and then the Course level. The table below also provides an unduplicated faculty headcount.

Admissions Funnel Overview (Census)Available to General Users - Provides an overview of degree-seeking first-time freshmen and degree-seeking transfers admissions trends using census metrics (yields and counts) for the three most recent fall terms. First-time freshmen preparation including average high school GPA, scores on SAT reading and writing and SAT math, and ACT English and Math as well as transfer preparation including average transfer GPA and average transfer units earned are provided for the three most recent fall terms. Results can be viewed in a graphical or tabular layout using the prompt at the top. This dashboard is designed to be printer friendly.
Admissions Funnel Overview - Provides an overview of admission metrics (counts and yields) at each stage of the admissions process including applicants, admits, confirms, and enrolls. Filter by admit academic year, admit term, and admission cohort type. Optional filters and Group Breakdowns by academic unit, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, athletics and support programs, last school attended, and credentials.
Admissions Demographics by College - Provides demographics break downs (gender, underrepresented minority, race / ethnicity, region, pell eligibility, and first generation status) of admitted students by a selected college. Filter by admit academic year, admit term, and college. Optional filters by academic unit, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, athletics and support programs, last school attended, and credentials.
Trends - Provides an overview of yield or count trends across each stage of the admissions funnel process (applicants, admits, confirms, enrolls). Available selectors for terms to include in trend. Optional filters and Group Breakdowns by academic unit, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, athletics and support programs, last school attended, and credentials.
CSUMB / College / Major Comparisons - Provides for comparison between a selected college and/or major with CSUMB overall on admission process metrics (yields and counts). Optional filters and Group Breakdowns by academic unit, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, athletics and support programs, last school attended, and credentials.
Multilevel Crosstab Table - Provides capacity to customize a pivot table of admissions metrics with up to four Group Breakdowns. Optional filters and Group Breakdowns by academic unit, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, athletics and support programs, last school attended, and credentials. The resulting pivot table can be manipulated within the CSUMB Data Warehouse or exported for further analysis.

Courses Overview - Provides overall course enrollment statistics for all courses and class sections, the top ten courses by course enrollment, a linked rank ordered analysis of all courses enrollment, and course enrollment by Course FTES, Annualized Course FTES, Student Credit Units, or Units in Progress. Academic Year and Term prompts apply to the entire dashboard page. This dashboard page also includes filters for Academic Program, CSU Academic Plan Owner, Academic Plan Type, and Source Academic Plan.
Class Schedule Schedule - Enrollment Capacity and Waitlist Provides the capacity to see class schedule details by enrollment capacity and wait list. Filters include Academic Group (College), Academic Organization (Department), Subject Description, Catalog Number, Academic Year, and Term. Optional Course Characteristics filters are also available. Course names are linked to additional catalog detail information via the View Course Catalog Details action links. Class Numbers are linked to additional Meeting and Facility Details via action links.

Schedule - All Instructors and Workload Provides the capacity to see class schedule details by all instructors (not just primary) with count of instructor, week workload hour count, and assignment percentage. Filters include Academic Group (College), Academic Organization (Department), Subject Description, Catalog Number, Academic Year, and Term. Optional Course Characteristics filters are also available. Course names are linked to additional catalog detail information via the View Course Catalog Details action links. Class Numbers are linked to additional Meeting and Facility Details via action links.
Course Typically Offered Provides the capacity to visualize offering patterns for courses over the last five years. This subpage includes filters for Academic Group, Academic Organization, Subject Description, Class Status, Class Type, and Session. Metrics include Total Enrollment and Section Count. Report can be viewed as Course Offering Patterns (default) or Offering Patterns by Subject.
Last Academic Year Students Enrolled Provides a list of courses by the last academic year in which students enrolled in that course. This subpage includes filters for Academic Group, Academic Organization, and Subject Description.
Meeting Pattern - Provides heat matrices that illustrate the utilization of scheduled timeblock capacity by building and facility type as well as meeting pattern days. This subpage includes filters for Academic Year, Term, Academic Group, Academic Organization, Subject Description, Class Status, and Class Type. Combined class sections may share resources such as facility and time block, which may result in partial data when filtered. A linked analysis provides a list of Combined Section Courses.
Course Enrollment Trends - Provides trend graphs and pivot table displaying historical enrollment trends as class headcount. Filters provide ability to select academic year and terms for the trend analysis. Optional Filters and Group Breakdowns include Academic Unit of Courses, Course Characteristics, Academic Unit of Students, Student Characteristics, and Athletics and Support Programs.

Credentials

Credentials - - Provides counts on credential recommendations and headcounts for various credential attributes and select demographic breakdowns. Credentials students captured in this dashboard are reported by terms, not based upon their enrollment, but rather when they are recommended for the credential.

The Credentials Dashboard does not include Title II Program Completers.

This dashboard is updated once per year in November when the data are submitted to the Chancellor's Office in the ERST extract.

CSUMB / College / Major Comparisons Academic Year Comparisons Provides degree count, headcount, average units at graduation, and average GPAs at graduation comparisons for selected college(s) and/or major(s) by academic year. Time and Average Units to Degree - Provides analyses of degree headcount by years to degree, total units earned average by years to degree average, headcount by campus units earned, and headcount by total units earned. Data is broken down by admission basis group and can be filtered by academic year and college and major.
Completions (Non-Census) - Provides degrees awarded and degrees awarded with honors information back to 1996. The data can be broken down using the Group Breakdown by academic career, degree type, education level, academic plan type, CSU academic plan owner (college), CSU academic plan (major), and CSU major pathway.

DFW Grades - Provides a visual representation of students graded, the number of students that received a D, F, or W in a course, and the percentage of all graded students that received a D, F, or W in a course. The dashboard can be filtered by Academic Year and Term. Optional Filters and Group Breakdowns available include Academic Unit of Courses, Course Characteristics, Academic Unit of Students, Student Characteristics, and Athletics and Support Programs.
Course GPA Equity Gaps - Provides a listing of courses and course GPA equity gaps (e.g. gender, underrepresented minority status). Linked analyses on Academic Course Name navigate to grade distributions for the course equity gap selected. The dashboard can be filtered by Academic Year, Term, and the number of students graded. Optional Filters include Academic Unit of Courses and Course Characteristics.
Course Grade Distributions - Provides bar graphs and pivot table representation of course grade distributions by Grade Description and Grade Code. The Report selector also includes detailed grade distribution tables at both the course and class section level. The dashboard can be filtered by Academic Year and Term. Optional Filters include Academic Unit of Courses, Course Characteristics, Academic Unit of Students, Student Characteristics, and Athletics and Support Programs.
Subsequent Course Grades - This dashboard page is intended to allow users to see how students do in a subsequent course based off of their performance in a preceding course (for looking at course scaffolding). Users of this dashboard page will have the ability to specify the preceding course, when it was taken, and the grades received in the preceding course in the "Step 1" menu. Users then select the subsequent course information in the "Step 2" menu.
Term and Cumulative GPAs - Provides breakdown of Term GPA, Cumulative GPA, Units Taken in Progress Wt Avg, Units Passed in Progress Wt Avg, and Units Taken for Grade Point Average Wt Avg. Report views include Average GPAs by Term, Term GPA Groups by Term, and Cumulative GPA Groups by Term. Optional Filters and Group Breakdowns available include Academic Unit of Students, Student Characteristics, and Athletics and Support Programs.

Trend Comparisons - Provides the capacity to visualize selected retention and graduation rates over time and to compare rates across different group breakdown options. Group breakdowns and optional filters include academic units, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, and athletics and support programs.
CSUMB / College / Major Comparisons - Provides the capacity to compare retention and graduation rates for a particular selected college(s) and/or major(s). Data is displayed for the selected cohort type and additional optional filter prompts are available. Optional filters include academic units, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, and athletics and support programs.
Achievement Gaps - Provides the capacity to visualize achievement gaps in retention and graduation rates between different comparison categories including gender, first generation status, Pell eligibility, tri-county region vs. other, and underrepresented minority status. Optional filters include academic units, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, and athletics and support programs.
Entering Cohort Tracking - Provides the capacity to visualize enrollment and graduation tracking of an individual cohort from their matriculation term through 10 years. The stacked bar chart view is displayed by default enrolled students, students that graduated, students that graduated cumulatively in prior terms, and students that neither enrolled nor graduated. You can use the “Select view” drop down to visualize the data by one metric at a time. Faculty Student Success Dashboard (FSSD) empowers faculty to proactively engage with their students in ways that promote student success across a variety of indicators. With this Dashboard, faculty will be able to easily access individual academic performance, progress and success data  (e.g. retention, graduation) of students who enroll in their courses and observe how their work is reflected in overall, as well as individual, student success indicators. This Dashboard aims to increase awareness of the role faculty play in student success.
