Help and Additional Resources - - This page contains links to dashboards in the CSUMB Data Warehouse curated by stages of the student life cycle. Links are provided to help files and additional resources.
Academic Planning Database (APDB) Overview - Provides an overview of state-support course sessions for the most recent fall term. Visualizations include the 10 most highly enrolled courses, class size distributions, student FTEs by college, and student / faculty ratio by college. Using the "Select View" prompt at the top, you can change from a graphical to a tabular layout, or you can select "College or Major" options, that will reveal prompts for college and major that the data can be used to filter the data. This dashboard is designed to be printer friendly.
Student Faculty Ratio and Faculty Workload - Provides metrics on Student Term FTEs, Faculty Term FTEs, Student Faculty Ratio, and Section Counts and Enrollment. Total Faculty Workload, Faculty Headcount, and Faculty Workload Fractions are also available.
Course FTES for Academic Year - Provides a tabular breakdown of student course FTES for the term(s) and academic year selected. The table uses a nested hierarchy under the SIA Academic Course column. The college level can be expanded to the department level, to the major level, and then to the course level. Clicking on a particular course and using the action link navigation drills to a fully drilled table with class sections.
Average Class Size and Credit Load - Provides a tabular breakdown of enrollment, number of sections, total credits, average class size, and average credit for the term(s) and academic year selected. The Academic Group (college) column values can be drilled down to the Academic Organization (department) level, and then to the Subject Description, and then the Course level.
Faculty Instruction - Provides a tabular breakdown of the number of faculty, the total credits taught, and the average credits per faculty for the term(s) and academic year selected. The Academic Group (college) column values can be drilled down to the Academic Organization (department) level, and then to the Subject Description, and then the Course level. The table below also provides an unduplicated faculty headcount.
Admissions Funnel Overview (Census) - Provides an overview of degree-seeking first-time freshmen and degree-seeking transfers admissions trends using census metrics (yields and counts) for the three most recent fall terms. First-time freshmen preparation including average high school GPA, scores on SAT reading and writing and SAT math, and ACT English and Math as well as transfer preparation including average transfer GPA and average transfer units earned are provided for the three most recent fall terms. Results can be viewed in a graphical or tabular layout using the prompt at the top. This dashboard is designed to be printer friendly.
Admissions Funnel Overview - Provides an overview of admission metrics (counts and yields) at each stage of the admissions process including applicants, admits, confirms, and enrolls. Filter by admit academic year, admit term, and admission cohort type. Optional Filter prompts include academic units (college / major). The dashboard can be further broken down using the Group Breakdown by academic unit, demographics, academic characteristics, student financial aid, and proficiency and preparation variables.
Admissions Demographics by College - Provides demographics break downs (gender, underrepresented minority, race / ethnicity, region, pell eligibility, and first generation status) of admitted students by a selected college. Filter by admit academic year, admit term, college, and admission cohort type.
Trends - Provides an overview of yield or count trends across each stage of the admissions funnel process (applicants, admits, confirms, enrolls). Available filters include admit term name and admission cohort type. Optional Filter prompts include academic units (college / major). The dashboard can be further broken down using the Group Breakdown by academic unit, demographics, academic characteristics, student financial aid, and proficiency and preparation variables.
CSUMB / College / Major Comparisons - Provides for comparison between a selected college and/or major with CSUMB overall on admission process metrics (yields and counts) using group breakdowns, which include: student demographics, academic characteristics, student financial aid, and proficiency and preparation variables. Available prompts include metric, group breakdown, admit academic year, admit term, and admission cohort type.
Multilevel Crosstab Table - Provides capacity to customize a pivot table of admissions metrics by admission cohort type with up to four Group Breakdowns, which include academic units, student demographics, academic characteristics, student financial aid, and proficiency and preparation variables. Optional filter prompts are also available to filter the entire dashboard by academic unit (college / major). The resulting pivot table can be manipulated within the CSUMB Data Warehouse or exported for further analysis.
Campus Profile - - Provides a single page summary of recent trends in key student metrics. Includes FTF preparation metrics, as well as key enrollment, admissions, and degrees metrics.
Chancellor's Office Reports Enrollment Planning Report (EPR) - These pages contain reports to validate CSU, State, and Federal compliance reporting, including IPEDS.

Courses Course Enrollment - Provides overall course enrollment statistics for all courses and class sections, the top ten courses by course enrollment, and a rank ordered analysis of all courses enrollment. Academic Year and Term prompts apply to the entire dashboard page. The Course Enrollment analysis provides various enrollment metrics (i.e., Course FTES, Annualized Course FTES, Student Credit Units, and Units in Progress) by CSU Academic Plan Owner (college) and by Course Funding Description (i.e., whether or not the courses is funded through state-support or self-support). This dashboard page also includes filters for Academic Program, CSU Academic Plan Owner, Academic Plan Type, and Source Academic Plan.
Class Schedule Schedule Provides the capacity to drill into an Academic Group, Academic Organization, or Subject Description to see details on courses within that grouping for a particular term. Once drilled, this analysis provides additional course details for all courses in the selected fields including: catalog number and name of courses, class section codes, class numbers, class status, class type, enrollment status, fees exist flag, general education indicator, session, source instruction mode, instructor full name, total enrollment capacity, total enrollment, total wait list capacity, and total wait list. Course names are linked to additional information via the View Course Catalog Details action links.
Course Typically Offered Provides the capacity to visualize offering patterns for courses over the last five years. This subpage includes filters for Academic Group, Academic Organization, Subject Description, Class Status, and Class Type.
Meeting Pattern - Provides heat matrices and a pivot table that illustrate the utilization of scheduled timeblock capacity by building, facility, and facility type, as well as meeting pattern days. This subpage includes filters for Academic Year, Source Term, Academic Group, Academic Organization, Subject Description, Class Status, and Class Type.
Credentials - - Provides counts on credential recommendations and headcounts for various credential attributes and select demographic breakdowns. Students captured in this dashboard are reported under terms, not based upon their enrollment, but rather when they are recommended for the credential.

The Credentials Dashboard does not include Title II Program Completers.

This dashboard is updated once per year in November when the data are submitted to the Chancellor's Office in the ERST extract.

Degrees Overview - Provides an overview of degrees awarded for the two most recent academic years for which census has been completed. Visualizations include top five undergraduate degrees, top five graduate degrees, degrees by type, and degree honors. Results can be viewed in a graphical or tabular layout using the "Select View" prompt at the top left and can be filtered by College and Major. This dashboard is designed to be printer friendly.
Degrees Awarded Trends Academic Year Trends Provides academic year trends of degree count, headcount, average units at graduation, and GPAs at graduation that can be broken down by and filtered by academic units, student demographics, admissions characteristics, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military status, athletics and support programs, and degree characteristics.
Terms Trends Provides term trends of degree count, headcount, units at graduation, and GPAs at graduation that can be broken down and filtered by academic units, student demographics, admissions characteristics, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military status, athletics and support programs, and degree characteristics.
CSUMB / College / Major Comparisons Academic Year Comparisons Provides degree count, headcount, average units at graduation, and average GPAs at graduation comparisons for selected college(s) and/or major(s) by academic year. The data can be broken down or filtered by student demographics, admissions characteristics, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military status, athletics and support programs, and degree characteristics.

Breakdowns and filters include academic units, student demographics, admissions characteristics, student financial aid, U.S. military status, athletics and support programs, and degree characteristics. The resulting pivot table can be manipulated within the CSUMB Data Warehouse or exported for further analysis.
Time and Average Units to Degree - Provides analyses of degree headcount by years to degree, total units earned average by years to degree average, headcount by campus units earned, and headcount by total units earned. Data is broken down by admission basis group and can be filtered by academic year and college and major.
Completions (Non-Census) - Provides degrees awarded and degrees awarded with honors information back to 1996. The data can be broken down using the Group Breakdown by academic career, degree type, education level, academic plan type, CSU academic plan owner (college), CSU academic plan (major), and CSU major pathway.
Enrollment (Census) Overview Degree / Credential-Seeking Enrollment Overview Provides a historical trend for fall terms of headcount and state & self support FTEs as well as graphical breakdowns for race / ethnicity, gender, age, region, and tri-county region for the two most recent fall semesters.
Degree-Seeking Undergraduate Enrollment Provides a historical headcount trend of enrolled undergraduate students for fall terms and breakdown of undergraduate enrollment by admission basis group, college, gender, race / ethnicity, first generation status, low income, received Pell status, underrepresented minority status, and region for the two most recent fall terms.
Degree-Seeking First-Time Freshmen Provides a historical trend of new enrolled degree-seeking First-Time Freshmen (FTF) students for fall terms and breakdown by college, race / ethnicity, gender, age, preparation (including test scores and HS GPA), first generation status, low income, received Pell status, underrepresented minority status, and region for the two most recent fall terms.
Degree-Seeking Transfers Provides a historical trend of all new enrolled degree-seeking transfers for fall terms and breakdown of degree-seeking transfers enrollment by college, race / ethnicity, gender, age, top feeder schools, first generation status, low income, received Pell status, underrepresented minority, and region for the two most recent fall terms.
Degree-Seeking Graduate Students Provides a historical trend of all degree-seeking graduate students for fall terms and breakdown by major, race / ethnicity, gender, age, first generation status, low income, underrepresented minority, and region for the two most recent fall terms.
Enrollment by Major Provides a ranked distribution of enrollment in both undergraduate and graduate majors for the most recent fall term.
Enrollment Trends Term Trends Provides term enrollment trend breakdowns of selected variables by a selected term name and for a selected number of years. Metrics available include "Headcount", "State FTEs", "Self-Support FTEs", and "State and Self-Support FTEs".
Academic Year Trends Provides academic year enrollment trend breakdowns of selected variables for a selected number of years. Metrics available include "Headcount", "Annualized State FTEs", "Annualized Self-Support FTEs", and "Annualized State and Self-Support FTEs".
CSUMB / College / Major Comparisons Term Comparisons Enables term enrollment comparisons between selected college(s) and/or major(s) on enrollment metrics ("Headcount", "State FTEs", "Self-Support FTEs", or "State and Self-Support FTEs") that can be broken down by various group breakdowns and filters.
Academic Year Comparisons Enables academic year enrollment comparisons between selected college(s) and/or major(s) on enrollment metrics ("Headcount", "Annualized State FTEs", "Annualized Self-Support FTEs", and "Annualized State and Self-Support FTEs") that can be broken down by various group breakdowns and filters.
Multilevel Crosstab Table Terms Provides the capacity to breakdown enrollment by term with up to four group breakdowns in a pivot table with multiple other optional filter prompts available. Metrics available include "Headcount", "State FTEs", "Self-Support FTEs", and "State and Self-Support FTEs".
Academic Years Provides the capacity to breakdown enrollment by academic year with up to four group breakdowns in a pivot table with multiple other optional filter prompts available. Metrics available include "Headcount", "Annualized State FTEs", "Annualized Self-Support FTEs", and "Annualized State and Self-Support FTEs".
Historical Enrollment (1995-2007) - Provides historical enrollment trends prior to 2008 with various academic and demographic group breakdowns available.
Executive Overview - - Provides a Census snapshot overview of Admissions, Enrollment (State and Self-Support), Retention and Graduation, and Degrees. The dashboard can be filtered to a selected college and/or major using the available prompts. Help and Navigation resources are available at the bottom of the dashboard page.
Financial Aid - - Provides a non-Census overview of Aid Distribution by Source; Aid to Students Trends; Aid Contributors Trends; Top Federal Aid Contributors Performance Trend; Aid Amount Trend; Aid Offered vs. Disbursed by Source, Type, Career; and Aid Amounts by Source, Type, Career.
Grades Course Grade Distributions DFW Bubble Chart Provides a visual representation of students graded, the number of students that received a D, F, or W in a course, and the percentage of all graded students that received a D, F, or W in a course. The dashboard can be filtered by Academic Year and Term and by Academic Group (College), Academic Organization (Department), and Subject. Group Breakdowns available include Academic Group, Academic Organization, Source Instruction Mode, General Education Indicator, Course Classification Number Description, Course Funding Description, and Session.
Course Grade Distribution Reports Provides heat matrix reports for courses (Student Percentage with DFW and Student Count with DFW). The reports drop down also includes full course and class grade distribution detail tables. The dashboard can be filtered by Academic Year and Term and by Academic Group (College), Academic Organization (Department), and Subject. Group Breakdowns include gender, student attribute, ethnic group, athlete participation code, sport, and academic level.
Grade Point Averages (GPAs) Term and Cumulative GPAs Provides breakdown of Term GPA, Cumulative GPA, Units Taken in Progress Wt Avg, Units Passed in Progress Wt Avg, and Units Taken for Grade Point Average Wt Avg. Group Breakdowns available include Gender, Race / Ethnicity, Source Academic Load, CSU Academic Plan Owner, Country, Student Attribute, Student Group, Source Athlete Participation, NCAA Eligibility Flag, Sport, and Current Athletics Participation Flag.
Course GPAs Provides Average GPA (unweighted averages) by all courses that can be broken down by Academic Group, Academic Organization, Subject, and Class Description. The dashboard can be filtered by Academic Year and Term and by Academic Group (College), Academic Organization (Department), and Subject.
Repeats and EO 1037 - Provides a report on Repeat Enrollments and Units Repeated by College and Department as well as total units where grade forgiveness units were used or overall repeat and withdrawal units were used after implementing EO 1037. Information is also available on EO 1037.
Graduation Initiative 2025 Overview - Provide analysis on progress made to date for CSUMB's six Graduation Initiative 2025 goals: First-Time, Full-Time Freshman (FTFTF) four and six year graduation goals; California Community College (CCC) Transfer two and four year graduation goals; and Pell vs. Non-Pell and URM vs. Non-URM equity gap goals.
Goal Progress FTFTF 4-Year Graduation Provides an analysis on progress made to date for CSUMB's First-Time, Full-Time Freshman (FTFTF) four year graduation rate goal.

Retention and Graduation Overview - Provides the most recent retention and graduation rates for first-time freshmen, upper division transfers, and first-time graduate students. College and major filter prompts are available. Results can be viewed in a graphical or tabular layout using the prompt at the top. This dashboard is designed to be printer friendly.
Trend Overview - Provides an overview of retention and graduation by matriculation term of entering cohorts. The most recent retention and graduation rates are shown at the top for the cohort type selected. Below, you can see overall trends in retention and graduation rates. Optional filters are available that include academic units, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, and athletics and support programs.
Trend Comparisons - Provides the capacity to visualize selected retention and graduation rates over time and to compare rates across different group breakdown options. Group breakdowns and optional filters include academic units, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, and athletics and support programs.
CSUMB / College / Major Comparisons - Provides the capacity to compare retention and graduation rates for a particular selected college(s) and/or major(s). Data is displayed for the selected cohort type and additional optional filter prompts are available. Optional filters are available that include include academic units, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, and athletics and support programs.
Achievement Gaps - Provides the capacity to visualize achievement gaps in retention and graduation rates between different comparison categories including gender, first generation status, Pell eligibility, tri-county region vs. other, and underrepresented minority status. Optional filters are available that include include academic units, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, and athletics and support programs.
Entering Cohort Tracking - Provides the capacity to visualize enrollment and graduation tracking of an individual cohort from their matriculation term through 10 years. The stacked bar chart view displayed by default enrolled students, students that graduated, students that graduated cumulatively in prior terms, and students that neither enrolled nor graduated. You can use the “Select view” drop down to visualize the data by one metric at a time. Optional filters are available that include academic units, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, and athletics and support programs.
Multilevel Crosstab Table - Provides the capacity to breakdown enrollment, retention, and cumulative graduation counts and percentages by up to four group breakdowns. Group breakdowns and optional filters include include academic units, student demographics, admissions classifications, student classifications, student preparation, student financial aid, U.S. military, and athletics and support programs.
Historical Ret/Grad Data (1995-2007) - This page redirects to a Tableau Public report of CSUMB's historical retention and graduation rates for the years 1995-2007 (data not available in the CSUMB Data Warehouse). The data can be broken down by cohort type, college, ethnicity, first generation status, gender, low income status, major, and underrepresented minority status.
Term Enrollment Fast Facts Enrollment Fast Facts (Census) - Includes enrollment breakdowns by student demographics, student type, admission basis group, region, and underrepresented groups. Includes enrollment Headcount, State FTEs, and Self-Support FTEs by student type, by college, by major. [Note: This dashboard provides the same breakdowns of enrollment data as the CSUMB Enrollment Fast Facts that is posted for each fall and spring term on IAR's website, but the Term Enrollment Fast Facts Dashboard is filterable by various factors in the CSUMB Data Warehouse.]
Major Report (Census) - Includes new and continuing students broken down by student type and student level by college and major.
New versus Continuing (Census) - Includes enrollment Headcount, State FTEs, and Combined Term Units Attempted Wt Avg for New and Continuing Students by California Residency Status Group, Student Type, and Student Level.
Enrollment Demographics (Non-Census) - Provides various breakdowns for enrollment in any credit program by major including: enrollments by Source Academic Plan by CSU Academic Plan Owner, by Source Academic Program, by Source Academic Career; gender, race/ethnicity, and age; student type funding by international student status; and country by international student status.
