Race / Ethnicity designations are taken directly from the CSU admission application question which asks applicants "If the CSU is asked to report only ONE summary race/ethnicity description for you, please choose ONE category."

Prior to 2009 application year, students responded to a different ethnicity question. These older Ethnic Codes have been mapped into the categories that align with the new CSU Race / Ethnicity Reporting Category schema.

  • African American
  • Asian American
  • Latino
  • Native American
  • Other/Decline
  • Pacific Islander
  • Two or More Races
  • White
